Exploding the myths of European Union product development.
On Friday 17th May, our guest speaker was Arnaud Lamy. Arnaud is Research & Development director for Application des Gaz, owner and distributor of brands including Campingaz, Coleman (planchas & barbecues), Sevylor, Marmot, which is part of the Newell Brands group.
Arnaud’s presentation focused on exploding the myths of European Union product development. This wasn’t merely to point out that Europe isn’t always singing from the same hymn sheet, but to show that in certain categories, product safety and quality, country by country, takes precedent over harmonization across 28 different markets.
Arnaud’s talk demonstrated his expertise of both market dynamics and regulation, and also his ability to make a very complex subject simple enough for the uninitiated to understand!

Our thanks to Arnaud and to Michael Strophair for helping us to set this up; 28 members attended, which given a typical French month of May, with bank holidays making for shorter weeks, was a very good turn-out.
